IP CCTV Dome camera gets its name from its shape and is usually used in indoor security systems. IP CCTV Dome camera are quite inconspicuous as onlookers cannot tell which way the camera is pointed due to which they are often used in retail spaces. They are mostly vandal proof since they are installed on the ceiling. IP CCTV Dome camera also comes with infrared to capture video recordings in low light conditions. They can also rotate which allows wider surveillance area. CCTV Dome camera also comes in Pan-Tilt Zoom (PTZ) which allows the operators to pan, tilt and zoom the lens and is often used where live monitoring is required.

Video Recording:

There are two ways the CCTV can record surveillance videos; DVR and NVR. DVR stands for Digital Video Recording while NVR stands for Network Video Recorder.

NVR is a system that allows videos to recorded in digital format and saved to a SD memory card, disk drive, USB flash drive or any mass storage devise. Itis essentially a computer system with a specialized software to allow digital recording. NVR is often installed with the purpose of storage and remote viewing and is connected with IP CCTV cameras. The perks of NVRs are that it can either be installed as wired or wireless systems, making it a better solution in mist cases.
